Alterna Savings and Credit Union Limited (Alterna) has been the good in banking since 1908. Alterna is made up of Alterna Savings and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alterna Bank. As the first full-service, member-owned co-operative financial institution outside Quebec, Alterna Savings is one of the largest credit unions in Canada. Alterna also operates a Micro-Finance Program and loan funds they help to administer in partnership with local community organizations in the Toronto and Ottawa regions.
